Each day I create one small, quick and loose stitching - they capture my feelings, mood and the moment in time in which they are created. When I am unable to work at my sewing machine (for example, when I am on holiday), I instead work with pen and ink.
Here are 365 daily stitch drawings from 12 months of daily practice. Image number one shows the daily stitch drawings in a calendar grid format. The first column represents Monday, the second Tuesday and so on. The first row represents November 2024, the second December 2024, the third January 2025 and so on. The first stitching in each row therefore represents the 1st day of that month and shows the stitching created on that day.
The stitchings can be presented either in a calendar grid format (as in image one) or in towers of daily stitch. Both methods of display present a visual representation of the movement of time. When displayed as a calendar grid format (as in image one), the combined size is approx. 3.7M wide by 1.8M high.
The calendar grid (image 1) has been turned into a limited-edition print (see image 7) – click here for more details.
